Salary Range:

Days: $38.07 - $49.67

Evenings: $42.07 - $53.67

Nights: $43.27 - $54.87

All evening and night shifts include shift differentials.

The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including relevant experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.

Job Summary

The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Renders professional care in accordance with the physician/provider treatment plan and the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. He/She is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the patient population served on the assigned units. Utilizes nursing skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, cultural, ethnic and spiritual and educational needs of the patient/family/significant other to develop, implement and revise the plan of care. In doing so, performs frequent and accurate assessments, interprets and correlates finding, establishes plan of care and implements short term goals. The RN observes patient progress, records pertinent observations, implements physician and nursing treatment plans and evaluates outcomes. The RN recognizes the legal responsibilities as specified by law and abides within those responsibilities. The RN may participate in weekend, holiday, on call, and evening/night rotations.

Minimum Education Requirement :

Graduate from a School of Nursing.

Minimum Experience Requirement:
  • Previous hospital RN experience is preferred.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, ability to provide quality patient care, and ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual.
  • Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.

Minimum License Requirement :

Current NYS RN license or eligible. BLS required. ACLS preferred.
