Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies currently has an opening for a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer - Strategic Planner and Team Lead. The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated experience in developing Joint Training Plans; identifying and updating training objectives based on approved plans in coordination with customers and participants; identifying existing and/or emerging exercises and advanced training opportunities; and compiling all relevant data into a clear, mission-focused presentation for senior leadership review and approval. The successful candidate is skilled in coordinating with mission stakeholders to refine training objectives based on approved operational plans. The candidate excels at identifying both existing and emerging exercises and advanced training opportunities that align with mission needs. They are also capable of mapping training objectives to these opportunities and preparing well-structured, senior-level presentations that support informed decision-making. This role requires a strong balance of leadership and followership skills-someone who can confidently lead teams and initiatives, while also supporting and contributing to collaborative efforts with professionalism and adaptability.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare, Plan, and Integrate support into customer planning, exercises, training, and operations activities.
  • Integrate activities into the joint planning cycle supporting customer needs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to outside organizations in support of operations and exercise planning coordination and deconfliction.
  • Support development, deployment, and execution of plans and operations orders.
  • Prepare various reports, presentations and documentation as needed.
  • Support development and coordination of space operations guidance and intent.
  • Plan, organize and direct space operations planning programs.
  • Work under minimal supervision to set objectives for work environment.
  • Leverage operations center communications contracts to coordinate operational processes, best practices, doctrine, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership and followership background with the ability to influence, mentor, and lead a diverse team of professionals.
  • Work will be primarily conducted at Springfield, VA at the customer site, with potential for travel within the United States and potentially overseas to support program execution.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly required.
  • Must have experience with Joint Operations and Joint Planning Process.
  • Familiarity with Mission Protection function.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion.
  • Graduate from Joint Professional Military Education program.
  • 2+ years' experience in General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) G/J/N-5 (Plans Directorate).
  • DoD/NRO Systems Liaison / Field Representative.
  • Orbital Mechanics background.
