What will the Strategic Sales Representative do?

As a Strategic Sales Representative at Virginia Transportation Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth through customer retention and the development of new clients in the auto hauling sector. You will ensure that client performance requirements are met while providing valuable insights to the CCO based on market studies and analysis. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, rewarding both new and existing business that generates revenue.

What is the Strategic Sales Representative responsible for?
  • Generate weekly data reports for the CCO, focusing on existing business, potential leads, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers/clients through exceptional communication skills.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to maximize profitability while ensuring competitiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the auto hauling sector.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive reporting on all business development assignments.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify potential areas for growth.
  • Support various areas within the Operations department, including new business activities, brokerage, dealer relations, and customer integration.
  • Handle incoming calls with exceptional customer service, resolving or routing calls as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and performance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities.
  • Foster clear communication with all departments to support departmental activities.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and best practices to enhance sales techniques.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer.

  • What knowledge, skills and abilities are required for the Strategic Sales Representative role?
  • Exceptional customer service skills; bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • proficient knowledge of the vehicle logistics industry, sales, and account management, including new car and aftermarket segments, With experience in auto haul as a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of TMW is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Problem-solving skills with the capacity for conflict resolution.
  • Ability to forecast future trends and consequences accurately.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment while maintaining composure.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and listening abilities are essential.
  • Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
