SUMMARY

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports global sourcing, capacity optimization, NPD, and supplier management activities to meet company continuous improvement, productivity, and NPD goals. Evaluates business needs to develop and implement sourcing strategies, negotiates, evaluates supplier performance, and builds and strengthens supplier partnerships to maximize value to Andis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
  • Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities.
  • Supports global sourcing, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet company cost savings across NPD and Legacy goals.
  • Manages R&D inputs and sourcing report out, supports QRT (Quick Response Team) projects and Legacy item initiatives including execution of strategy for assigned categories.
  • Ensures Andis supplier innovation process is yielding continuous opportunities from suppliers and stakeholders and can identify opportunities to improve and create a plan to solve if needed.
  • Works closely with cross functional teams and suppliers to identify opportunities for technology advancement, cost savings, lead time reductions, working capital improvements, quality enhancements, and service level upgrading.
  • Gathers quantitative and qualitative market intelligence data including commodity specific information, cost drivers, pricing trends, best practices, and economic indicators.
  • Collaborates with NPD/Planning teams to support optimization of inventory levels and material flow.
  • Supports development of long-term supplier partnerships and manages suppliers not meeting expectations to meet Andis business requirements.
  • Supports identification and qualification of new global suppliers and leads supplier onboarding process.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team to ensure timely release and approvals to meet new product in-stock deadlines.
  • Maintains NPD tool for assigned projects and proactively communicates associated product launch risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintains Project CBOMs, identifies potential cost risks to internal stakeholders and communicates final landed costs with Chief of Finance.
  • Identifies and communicates continuous improvement opportunities and supports implementation.
  • May support other initiatives and projects related to Global Supply Chain operations


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to align with Andis Core Values and culture.
  • Strong analytical skills, high level of interpersonal, project management, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, qualify, and develop global supplier partnerships.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity as it relates to newer teams/processes (QRT) and take initiative to make improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree required or minimum 3-5 years sourcing or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and lean/continuous improvement processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft offices and AS/400 applications.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-15% (domestic and international).
