Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct mechanical analysis and design of space hardware, including system-level strength and dynamic analyses.
- Perform trade studies to optimize system architecture for performance, simplicity, mass, and cost.
- Develop and maintain mechanical/structural design documentation, including analysis reports, test procedures, and models.
- Troubleshoot anomalies, conduct root-cause analyses, and recommend solutions.
- Support production and testing activities, including static load and vibration tests.
- Define system test requirements and support mechanical testing at various facilities.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in mechanical/structural analysis and testing of space hardware.
- Strong background in stress and dynamics analysis, including FEM tools like NASTRAN (ANSYS, Hyperworks also considered).
- Knowledge of sine/random vibration and acoustic testing for aerospace hardware.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
