Structural Engineer - Technical Sales Support

We are on the lookout for a dynamic Structural Engineer to provide exemplary technical sales support while enhancing our brand within the industry. Based in North Dallas, this vital role bridges the gap between complex structural engineering principles and client-focused solutions in the commercial construction domain. Salary: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for sales teams by offering expert advice and creating design solutions for commercial building projects.
  • Educate and advise clients on the best practices and latest technologies in building design involving reinforced concrete, light-gauge steel, and timber.
  • Utilize various design software and tools such as Excel, ACAD, and PowerPoint to prepare detailed presentations and reports.
  • Collaborate with the design and construction teams to ensure projects are completed in accordance with the technical specifications and client requirements.
  • Keep abreast with industry trends and technology to provide innovative solutions to customer challenges and enhance the company's product offerings.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively, ensuring timely completion and the highest level of quality.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Over 5 years of experience in structural design focusing on commercial structures.
  • Proven practical knowledge of wood, concrete, and steel construction methods.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications including Microsoft Office and design software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to groups and maintain strong customer relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of extensive experience in structural design, particularly with multi-family and mass timber projects.
  • Advanced familiarity with Simpson products and solutions.
  • Previous experience in fasteners, connectors, and lateral systems design.

Skills:
  • Strong technical proficiency in design software such as ACAD.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional demeanor with high initiative and dedication to achieving business and project goals.
  • Ability to readjust priorities and handle multiple projects and customers under tight deadlines.
