How your role fits into Boldt:

The Structural Engineer provides project leadership and full-range structural design expertise for us to be responsible for and perform structural design in our various market sectors including healthcare, institutional, commercial and industrial/manufacturing. This position requires outstanding structural design capability and an eye for detail.

What you get to do:
  • Perform, manage, and coordinate development of our structural systems for designs, construction drawings, specifications, documentation and contract administration on design and design/build projects.
  • Provide structural engineering, design, and drafting as required to support the group.
  • Serve as an in-house technical resource for structural design and engineering.
  • Field-verify existing conditions and dimensions for structural designs at various construction sites for our diverse customers.
  • Perform necessary design analysis and calculations for compliance with various codes, standards, and regulations to meet the established criteria for specific projects.
  • Provide overall responsibility for design budgets and schedules on assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with customers, clients, owners, and construction personnel for creative solutions from inception to completion of project.
  • Assist in development of proposals, pricing, and presentations for design work.
  • Participate and contribute in company project and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of standards for specifications, drawing format, administrative procedures, and quality control measures.

What we expect from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; Professional Registration/Licensing (P.E.).
  • 5 or more years of related structural engineering experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of structural construction technology, design, applicable codes, regulations, standards, and other applicable expertise is required.
  • Strong understanding of computer aided drawing software including Revit, Risa 3D, PROFIS and Ram Structural Systems. Knowledge of SDS/2 or Tekla systems would be helpful.
  • Business and financial management knowledge; proficiency with business and administrative software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and TEAMS.
  • A valid driver's license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons' ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to optimally communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.

The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $87,100 - $107,300 per year. This range represents what The Boldt Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, alignment with market data and internal equity as well as other business and organizational needs. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work at our Appleton, WI office. If the incumbent works out of a different location, the anticipated salary range is subject to change.
