What You'll Bring

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • A Structural Engineer(SE) license is required and a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on transportation projects.
  • 5+ years of leadership or managerial experience within an engineering environment.
Key Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, specifically for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation-related structures.
  • Strong project management experience, including leading large, complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in structural design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage medium-complexity, multidiscipline projects, including oversight of subconsultants.
  • Ensure compliance with client and internal project management requirements.
  • Utilize project management tools effectively to track budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Apply advanced loss prevention practices to project execution.
  • Participate in client meetings, assist in project scoping, and develop strategic approaches.
  • Ensure projects adhere to technical standards, including specifications and quality control measures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to keep the department updated on industry trends and innovations.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to maintain high project standards.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and ensure the department has the necessary tools to meet client needs.
  • Participate in technical committees and industry organizations, contributing to professional publications and knowledge-sharing efforts.
