What You'll Bring
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- A Structural Engineer(SE) license is required and a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on transportation projects.
- 5+ years of leadership or managerial experience within an engineering environment.
- Extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, specifically for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation-related structures.
- Strong project management experience, including leading large, complex projects from concept to completion.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in structural design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Lead and manage medium-complexity, multidiscipline projects, including oversight of subconsultants.
- Ensure compliance with client and internal project management requirements.
- Utilize project management tools effectively to track budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Apply advanced loss prevention practices to project execution.
- Participate in client meetings, assist in project scoping, and develop strategic approaches.
- Ensure projects adhere to technical standards, including specifications and quality control measures.
- Develop and deliver training programs to keep the department updated on industry trends and innovations.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to maintain high project standards.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and ensure the department has the necessary tools to meet client needs.
- Participate in technical committees and industry organizations, contributing to professional publications and knowledge-sharing efforts.
