Job Duties
  • Conduct structural analysis for aerospace components and subsystems, ensuring compliance with stiffness, strength, and performance requirements
  • Develop finite element models (FEM) and conduct detailed simulations using tools like Femap, NASTRAN, and Hypermesh
  • Perform dynamic environment analysis, including vibration, shock, and load response modeling for flight hardware
  • Lead validation efforts, performing model correlation through physical testing and data analysis
  • Support the development of test specifications for dynamic environments, including vibration, shock, and thermal cycling
  • Work closely with design engineers to optimize mechanical joints, bonded structures, and composite components
  • Analyze and mitigate failure modes, material stress limits, and mechanical fatigue risks for flight-critical hardware
  • Present analysis results in technical design reviews, providing key insights and recommendations for optimization
  • Oversee structural testing campaigns, debugging and troubleshooting issues related to mechanical performance
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams and external vendors to ensure structural components meet stringent aerospace quality standards


Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in structural analysis, aerospace engineering, or mechanical design
  • Strong expertise in finite element modeling (FEM) and simulation tools such as NASTRAN, Femap, and Hypermesh
  • Experience conducting hand calculations and classical structural analysis to validate computational models
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent) for interfacing with design teams
  • Experience analyzing static environments, stiffness, and mechanical joints in high-performance aerospace structures
  • Strong understanding of materials science, stress analysis, and structural failure modes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple design and analysis tasks
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, with experience presenting analysis results in technical settings

Preferred Experience
  • Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
  • Experience performing dynamic environments analysis such as random/sine vibration and shock testing
  • Knowledge of bonded joint analysis, fastener analysis (NASA 5020), and model validation techniques
  • Background in design, analysis, and fabrication of composite and metallic components
  • Hands-on experience with vibration and shock testing, coupon design, and structural thermos-optical performance analysis
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or VBA for process automation and analysis optimization
  • Familiarity with machine shop tools and fabrication techniques, including CNC machining, laser cutting, and 3D printing

Compensation Details

$150,000 - $190,000
