What You'll Do:
- Design & Draft Excellence: Leverage your CAD skills to prepare detailed civil and physical electrical drawings for high voltage utility substations and renewable energy projects.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Partner closely with engineers and other team members to identify solutions and ensure accuracy across all substation designs.
- End-to-End Drafting: Produce comprehensive drawings including:
- Substation layouts, plans, elevations
- Grounding, foundation, conduit, cable management plans
- Detailed steel, concrete, containment, firewall, and platform drawings (preferred)
- Bills of materials, notes, and calculations
- Lead QA/QC Efforts: Act as a drafting quality lead, reviewing work and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Guide, train, and mentor junior designers - sharing your expertise while continuing to develop yourself.
- Project Management Support: Assist PMs with proposals, resource planning, schedules, and client communications.
- Cross-Discipline Coordination: Work seamlessly with internal and external teams, from transmission engineers to surveyors, ensuring all parts of the project align.
What You Bring:
- Education: Associate degree in Design & Drafting Technology or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of CAD experience (AutoCAD preferred), ideally within substation, transmission, or distribution projects.
- Detail Orientation: A sharp eye for accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
- Team Focus: A commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering superior client outcomes.
