Roles & Responsibilities:
A Substation switchyard Control Engineer will work with a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to Design and deliver HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a new transient network analysis laboratory.
Implementation of control software as well as verification using simulation tools and real-time test environments
Preparation of design specifications, documentation, and effort estimations
Clarification of technical requirements within project teams as well as with customers and suppliers
Remote support during commissioning and service of HVDC systems
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
5+ years' experience
Very good knowledge in parameterization of bay control units, ideally of SIPROTEC 5 devices with DIGSI and CFC (Continuous Flow Chart)
Experience in the realization of the standard IEC61850 for substation control and for data exchange with higher level automation and SCADA systems
Good knowledge in high voltage and substation technology as well as in the design of interlocking schemes and automated control sequences
Good knowledge in secondary interfaces of high voltage components such as switching devices, transformers, CTs and VTs
Very good English language skills, German language skills are of advantage.

Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.

Implementation of control software as well as verification using simulation tools and real-time test environments
Preparation of design specifications, documentation, and effort estimations
Clarification of technical requirements within project teams as well as with customers and suppliers
Remote support during commissioning and service of HVDC systems
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- University degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on energy technology and profound professional experience
