The Aromas/San Juan Unified School District is recruiting for Substitute Administrators to cover when our principals are absent. We have 2 TK-8 schools and one high school.
Applicants must have a valid Administrative Credential to qualify.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Superintendent, to serve as the chief administrative officer of a school (K - 8) facility; to direct the formulation and implementation of operational procedures pertaining to a K - 8 school site; to plan, develop, and implement instructional objectives and designs and procedures to evaluate program effectiveness; to assist in the planning, development, and conduct of staff development and training programs; to plan, develop, and carry out public and community relations programs and activities; and to do other related functions as directed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BASED ON THE CALIFORNIA PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERS:

- Ensuring management of the organization, operations and resources for a safe, efficient and effective learning environment.
- Collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community needs, and mobilizing community resources.
- Modeling a personal code of ethics and developing professional leadership capacity among staff.
- Understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
- Collaborate with other District personnel.
Training and Experience:
- Possession of a valid California credential authorizing service as a K - 8 school principal.
- Possession of an earned Master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in educational administration or closely related field preferred.
- At least five years of successful public school teaching in grades K - 8.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Knowledge of:
- Principles, techniques, strategies, goals, and objectives of public education.
- Philosophical, economic, and legal aspects of public education; procedures, methods, and strategies of organization, site-based management, and supervision.
- Modern innovative and creative curriculum and instructional trends for the elementary and middle school age child; standards-based curriculum development, instructional program delivery strategies, data collection and analysis, and program supervision, assessment, and evaluation.
- Result and performance evaluation techniques pertaining to program and personnel performance effectiveness.
- Human relation strategies, conflict resolution strategies, and team building principles and techniques.
- Direct, lead, and coordinate the multifaceted functions and activities of a K - 8 school.
- Demonstrate effective instructional, organizational, and administrative leadership.
- Analyze problems, determine alternative solutions, and make appropriate and effective decisions.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Plan, develop, and maintain effective organizational and community relationships.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Light physical effort; occasional standing or walking; periodic handling of lightweight parcels or supplies.
- Indoor work environment.
- A pre-placement physical examination may be required.
- A valid Class C California Driver's License and evidence of appropriate automobile insurance based on DMV regulations may be required.
