Location: Shriver Program
Model: IN-PERSON
Serves as a member of the administrative team under the supervision of the Summer School site administrator at the Middle School. This will include daily interaction with staff, parents and students as well as the coordination of all aspects of the Summer School Program. In addition, this position will oversee and support the students and staff in the Shriver Program.

APPLY TO: SALARY:
Summer School Teachers who are APS employees during the year will be paid their hourly rate or $36.68 per hour., whichever is higher. (Please note Salary earned relative to summer school employment will not be included in the employee's creditable compensation amount reported to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).) Retired APS teachers will be paid $49.29 per hour per APS pay plan. Non-APS licensed summer school teachers will be paid $36.68 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps to plan and conduct orientation for teachers
- Coordinates scheduling process
- Helps set instructional tone and supports sound instructional practices
- Maintains high visibility in classrooms and halls
- Monitors student attendance
- Monitors substitutes and ensures classroom coverage
- Monitors hall, cafeteria and buses
- Assists with discipline matters
- Prepares correspondence as needed
- Supervises all opening and closing Summer School procedures
- Helps ensure completion of end-of-session reports (progress reports)
- Performs related duties as required or assigned
- Previous experience with the implementation of Summer School
- Experience working as part of a team
- Knowledge and experience working with students with disabilities
- Virginia Teaching Certification
- Virginia Administrative Endorsement
- Demonstrated knowledge of culturally responsive pedagogy
- Demonstrated leadership abilities at the school and/or county level
- Must be available to work the week prior to the start of Summer School
