Job Summary:
Functions under the direction of the Network Services Director. The Network Engineering Supervisor manages and motivates a sub-set of the network team responsible for ensuring the stability of wired and wireless network services. Through this oversite, the supervisor manages day-to-day operations which includes oversite of projects and operational metrics.This position works with various Information Technology team members, clinical departments and other WHS personnel to accomplish the established goals. The supervisor works closely with other analysts (both in applications and technical services) to document build and support requirements.Requires advanced knowledge of several systems, applications, and technology. Must be able to deliver excellent customer service requiring strong communication skills to ensure a high percentage of problem resolution and customer satisfaction.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Supervise Network Staff* Provide ongoing leadership and motivation to ensure that the staff is focused committed and capable of producing expected results.* Schedule,coordinate,and oversee daily work, meetings, and projects of team.* Create and maintain a teamwork environment conducive to productive output, successful staff advancement and a rewarding work experience.* Manage a team of up to 10 professionals.* Participate in rotation to provide on-call coverage with other Supervisors and Manager for Service Desk 24x7 .* Plan and manage the development and delivery of training and educational programs for team.* Responsible for ongoing management of team performance, administration, education and development, goal setting, and team-building activities.* Assess, identify, and develop team skills (based on business need) by facilitating and providing feedback to team members on customer service, and communication skills, in order to enhance the quality of support and customer satisfaction.* Prepare staffing plans providing for appropriate coverage, rotation of staff, training, and project work.* Monitor staff work and calls for quality assurance.* Support Manager in determining skill requirements for hiring.Conduct interviews and recommend candidates to be hired.* Assists in the research/development of existing and new product offerings, in conjunction with overall WellStar Health System strategic vision and direction.* Manage Severity 1 situations, issues, and communications as required and facilitate coordination of activities and timely status, sometimes under stressful conditions.* Implements/Audits Quality Assurance processes and procedures in all aspects of the UC services responsibilities.* Provide input to annual operating expense and capital budget for department.* Support Manager in monitoring departmental expenditures.* Manage vendor software and service contracts as appropriate.Responsible for the management of Network resources within the time requirements of Service Level Agreements (SLAs)* Manages ITIL (i.e., plan build, run) defined area of network team.* Responsible for coordination of network involvement in WellStar Health System projects in accordance with the defined region of responsibility.* Assists with the development and maintenance of service level agreements (SLAs) and follows up with customers.* Assists in completing personnel assigned yearly reviews.* Responsible for staff training and development.* Works with the network team to develop goals and objectives.Ensures team completes problem resolution, work orders including critical problems in a timely manner (following SLAs), updating client of status and maintaining work schedules and appointments with the user.* Verification of clear documentation on system/application/hardware support issues and resolutions in the call tracking system for of all assigned support calls.* Escalates problems to the proper person/groups/management.* Identifies/Implements corrective action to Support Services chronic support issues.* Provides weekly or when requested status reports on time or in a timely manner to Network Services Director.Actively supports and develops IT policies, procedures and documentation* Assists in the creation and maintains standards as they relate to delivery of network services.* Responsible for documenting changes to environment (i.e., hardware movement, installation, removal, etc.).* Responsible for maintaining inventory of standard hardware/local software by utilizing the current inventory/database/asset system.* Validates and maintains technical documentation in conjunction with the Network Engineers.Enhance professional growth and development through education programs, workshops or other educational opportunities that may be presented. Assists in the training of staff. Keeps abreast of current events* Responsible for staying current with system wide IT initiatives thru attendance and/or involvement in all relevant forums.* Demonstrates the ability to learn and improve troubleshooting skills by actively participating in education programs.* Attends regular departmental and Towne Hall meetings, and promote/exemplify excellent customer service as aligned with WellStars Standards of Gold.* Creates training documentation that is user friendly, detailed, and precise.Performs additional duties as assigned.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
  • Bachelors Information Systems
