Summary of Position:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing all aspects of the construction program and field construction team, from budgeting, planning, and execution to delivering upstream oil and gas production facilities in the Permian Basin. This role will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of production facilities while managing schedules, budgets, and contractor performance. The Construction Superintendent will work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and EH&S teams to ensure seamless project execution and facility handover to production operations for commissioning.

This role will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of production facilities while managing schedules, budgets, and contractor performance. The Construction Superintendent will work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and EH&S teams to ensure seamless project execution and facility handover to production operations for commissioning.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for construction execution of production facilities and other infrastructure systems including saltwater disposal facilities and pipeline networks.
- Supervise and mentor a team of construction foremen, inspectors, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
- Lead and coordinate field construction activities for oil and gas production facilities, including well site infrastructure, tank batteries, pipelines, and central processing facilities.
- Ensure construction activities align with project scopes, schedules, and budgets, proactively addressing challenges and optimizing efficiency.
- Work closely with EHS staff to monitor emissions requirements and implement concepts to ensure compliance while minimizing risk and maximizing production.
- Enforce CIVI safety policies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, API, BLM, state regulations). Conduct safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
- Monitor construction work to ensure it meets engineering specifications, company standards, and industry best practices. Perform field inspections and resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, operations, and EH&S teams to ensure smooth transitions from construction to commissioning and operations.
- Develop and manage construction schedules, ensuring coordination of materials, equipment, and labor resources.
- Track project costs, manage change orders, and provide regular progress reports to leadership.
- Oversee contractor performance, ensure adherence to contract terms, and drive accountability for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Ensure completed facilities are properly commissioned and transitioned to operations with full documentation and readiness for production startup.
- Act as or provide subject-matter expertise for all construction related issues.
- Assure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of upstream oil and gas construction experience with at least 5 years in a superintendent or leadership role.
- Professional certifications, such as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP), a plus.
- Expert knowledge of all oil & gas operations and API and ASME standards.
- Strong understanding of oilfield construction practices, production facilities, midstream infrastructure, and associated equipment.
- Proficient in reading P&IDs, isometric drawings, site layouts, and construction blueprints. Experience with construction management software is a plus.
- Ability to proactively identify and resolve field construction issues while maintaining project timelines.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to oil and gas facilities required.
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to utilize the applications for data analysis, complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualizations.
- Ability to pass Civitas' pre-employment hiring process and maintain a clean driving record.
Travel & Additional Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location M-Friday. This schedule is highly variable and is determined by current project status.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
- Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
