Superintendent- K-12 Schools

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a strong background in K-12 school projects, specifically with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The ideal candidate will lead the on-site execution of construction activities, ensuring compliance with LAUSD requirements, safety standards, project schedules, and quality expectations.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations on LAUSD job sites, including all subcontractor activities.
• Ensure projects are built in strict accordance with LAUSD guidelines, DSA (Division of the State Architect) regulations, and project specifications.
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the project team, inspectors, and district representatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant job site.
• Monitor construction schedules, track progress, and coordinate trade sequencing.
• Conduct daily jobsite meetings and ensure all documentation is up to date.
• Review and interpret blueprints, submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.
• Manage quality control and ensure punch-list items are completed on time.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and the client to resolve jobsite issues.
• Lead weekly progress meetings and provide detailed daily reports.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on public school construction projects.
• Proven experience with LAUSD projects and DSA inspection processes is required.
• OSHA 30 Certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, public works compliance, and K-12 education facility standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

Preferred:

• Completion of LAUSD CM/GC or JOC projects.
• Spanish language skills a plus.
• Background in carpentry or other trades is beneficial.
