Description:
Reporting to General Superintendent and the Project Manager in a matrix setting, the Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the overall construction process and activities within the established safety, design, budget, and scheduling guidelines. The Site Superintendent would achieve high standard of project delivery and operations excellence through planning and scheduling, organizing, trade management, directing, and controlling activities on the construction site.

About the Role
Construction Leadership
Participate with pre-construction activities.
Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish.
Ensures that projects are constructed in accordance with plans, specifications, shop drawings, applicable building codes, quality, and OHSA standards.
Drives the construction schedule and own the Last Planner System
Oversee day-to-day field activities.
Supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
Ensure Subcontractors adhere to scope of work, schedule, safety, and deficiency corrections.
Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding all work being performed.
Lead project meetings with all internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project's progress.
Coordinate and communicate RFI's, Shop Drawing Submittals.
Review drawings for constructability, identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
Manage materials and service purchase orders as per Marcon policy.
Provide project reporting in accordance with Marcon's standards (including daily logs, photos, weekly reports, and other).
Manage and oversee site security; cleanliness, organization, logistics, staging, delivery times, trade lock-up areas, etc.
Manage site presentation including branding on site, and ensure site set up is correctly done.
Maintain up to date record set of drawings electronic and/or paper.
Assist with financial management of project (budget and cost control).
Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
People Leadership
Lead and project staff and sub contractors.
Participate in recruitment of site resources.
Conduct employee orientations and site training.
Conduct performance evaluations.
Fosters a teamwork approach for achieving objectives.
Mentor and coach employees to allow growth and learning.
Process Leadership
Promote and execute Marcon's Operations system and processes, including the Last Planner System.
Engage with continuous improvement of Marcon's process and systems.
Ensure and champion use of Marcon's application technologies at the job site.
Use of key performance indicators to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
Safety Leadership
Promote Marcon's safety management system, and zero accident culture.
Ensure pro-active safety process and adherence to OHSA regulations.
Ensure all subcontractors are following Marcon's safety standards.
Support and uphold COR certification standards.
Quality Leadership
Ensure Marcon's standards for quality and brand is maintained.
Ensure corrective and preventive actions are in place for reduction of rework.
About You
10 years experience in multi family residential construction
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification
Working knowledge of health & safety practices and procedures
Solid understanding of current construction practices, knowledge on Lean Construction & Last Planner System an asset
Knowledge of project construction law and building codes
Ability to identifying constructability issues and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
Skilled at promoting teamwork with project team and stakeholders
Strong organizational, resource, planning, and time management skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficient with Microsoft office, MS Project, and Construction Management Software
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders needs, and identify solutions
