Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Functions:
- Manage all aspects of the maintenance team, focusing on safety, productivity, training, development, and employee relations.
- Motivate the team through proper delegation, participation, recognition, and follow-up on suggestions and ideas.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in the most effective, efficient, and timely manner.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to maintain a high degree of professionalism within the team.
- Utilize and understand the computerized maintenance management system, including work order tracking, spare parts catalog, requisitioning, and inventory systems.
- Be knowledgeable of the plant process and production.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Inspectors, Electrical Supervisor, Instrumentation Engineer, and Production Supervisors.
- Assist the Maintenance Planner in developing schedules (manpower assignments).
- Execute the planned work schedule with assigned resources, including Maintenance I & II employees, Mechanical Contractors, and Electrical Contractors.
- Manage routine day-to-day work orders.
- Coordinate Area Down Days (PM's, Inspections, Checklists).
- Oversee major maintenance turnarounds.
- Spend at least 70% of time in the field, coaching the workforce.
- Drive workforce performance by ensuring jobs are done safely, efficiently, and that employees are prepared for assigned jobs ahead of time.
- Enforce plant-specific policies (No Smoking areas, lockout, PPE, etc.).
- Maintain documentation such as work order history, work orders, and recommend job plan changes to Maintenance Planners.
- Address work performance and attendance issues.
- Communicate personnel issues to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in spare parts inventory control and maintain accurate records of maintenance callout activity.
- Record and communicate the Contractor Safety Orientation Program.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with environmental requirements.
- Verify that outside contractors have supplied required insurance certification before work begins.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree (AAS) or related experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in maintenance and/or an industrial environment with demonstrated progression of increased responsibility.
- Well-developed leadership capabilities.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Supervisory experience is desired.
