Position Summary
The Supervisor, Ocean Transportation will manage and audit import documents in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Will calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, and all other ocean/drayage cost of merchandise that is imported from a foreign country. Will be responsible for filing and managing all damage claims related to ocean transportation. Will be responsible for training and mentoring Ocean Import Specialists.

Qualifications
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Minimum 2 years of experience in customs brokerage, ocean drayage, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient experience in Microsoft Office including Office 365, Work, Outlook, and Excel. Working knowledge of a Transportation Management System is preferred. Knowledge of port pro software and e2O.
Supervisory Responsibilities: One direct report.
Position Hiring Range
The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.
Compensation: $68,640.00 - $91,620.00
Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.

Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Calculate and audit value of duties and tariffs due on transported goods.
- Monitor status of Customs and PGA releases, at time of release.
- Monitor inbound containers though various systems and ensure timely receipt of arrival notices.
- Update Living Spaces shipment data including container destination, freight costs, customs duties, and other details.
- Analyze arrival notices for accurate information and research discrepancies as needed.
- Analyze invoices from 3PL partners and update Living Spaces systems with accurate data. Research discrepancies as needed.
- Handle inquiries from other departments and external partners
- Reconcile vendor price discrepancies by analyzing system information against invoice and escalate as needed.
- Update ground transportation costs into Living Spaces TMS system.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Oversee and manage cargo damage claims filed reported by Living Spaces Distribution Centers and reporting to responsible ocean carriers.
- Provide Harmonized Tariff Schedule code support to customs brokerage and Compliance Manager.
- Attend meetings with Living Spaces Transportation vendors and ocean carriers and effectively provide feedback.
- Create and maintain records of raw material shipments used for Living Spaces Factories and Facilities.
- Handle container claims for damaged items received at Living Spaces warehouse.
- Communicate regularly with 3rd party Supply Chain Management and address any issues in a timely manner.
- Liaison between Living Spaces and shipping line providers.
- Is a vital and key stakeholder in Living Spaces IT projects involving EDI/ASN communications for cargo management and provides regular updates to internal and external IT departments involved.
