Opening:

Position Objective:

This position is responsible to supervise the Revenue group staff to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of revenue reports and filings, monthly journal entries and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Supervise the Revenue group, including analysts and clerks.
  • Oversee the maintenance, modification, and updates of the revenue system's fare Tariff, including fare increases, special events, and any fare/ticket initiatives as required by the MTA.
  • Prepare and review various monthly revenue reports and filings.
  • Supervise the preparation of monthly journal entries and perform analysis of revenue accounts. Determine and resolve discrepancies and prepare adjusting journal entries as necessary.
  • Create and run PeopleSoft, Central Sales System, Corporate Data Warehouse, and PowerBI queries to assist with the monthly close and analysis.
  • Interact with Station Personnel, the Customer Service department, and Treasury to investigate and resolve various revenue issues.
  • Assist with the implementation of the new system for Station Ticketing Machines, On-Board handheld devices, the new revenue back-end, and future revenue initiatives.
  • Investigate systems and procedures to develop, recommend, and implement new processes.
  • Manage daily administrative activities such as payroll, vacation schedules, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Required Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures. (I.e. PeopleSoft).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Access, Excel - use of pivot tables & v-lookups, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent quantitative, analytic and deductive reasoning capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management and external contacts.
  • Strong ability to take control of assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to prepare accurate work papers, work under pressure and meet deadlines.


Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
  • Minimum requires a minimum of five years accounting, finance or similar experience including database management and reporting; along with financial analysis and reconciliations.


Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Knowledge of accounting and revenue processes and systems.
  • MBA in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA
