Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Supervisor of CE System Operations is responsible for the management of all operational processes related to system availability, scheduling, maintenance, inventory management and technology enhancements. The focus is on driving high efficiency and lean management without sacrificing execution quality. The CE System Operations Supervisor contributes to the planning and execution of Commercial Enablement (department) initiatives.

Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Supervisor of CE System Operations is responsible for the management of all operational processes related to system availability, scheduling, maintenance, inventory management and technology enhancements. The focus is on driving high efficiency and lean management without sacrificing execution quality. The CE System Operations Supervisor contributes to the planning and execution of Commercial Enablement (department) initiatives.
Essential Job Duties
- Manage System Operations team including System Technicians and Coordinators (full, part time and contract personnel):
- Invest in the development of System Technicians/Coordinators to ensure high levels of performance and job satisfaction.
- Train System Coordinators/Technicians on troubleshooting Da Vinci systems and Ion systems as well as I&A.
- Develop and manage lean inventory operations processes.
- Develop and manage lean program/event coordination/logistics/support processes.
- Measure, analyze and improve daily system coordination operations.
- Negotiate contracts with 3rd party vendors.
- Partner with Facilities Management to maintain optimal customer facing environment:
- Provide continual feedback on the performance of the Facilities Management Team to ensure completion of all maintenance and safety related tasks
- Manage system operations including:
- Shipment logistics for Ion and da Vinci systems, I&A and third-party supplies
- Ordering and maintenance of da Vinci, Ion and 3rd party instruments and accessories
- Ordering and logistics management of specimens
- Maintenance of inventory records, including system utilization records
- Technical:
- Manage routine preventive maintenance of equipment (Ion and Da Vinci surgical system, video equipment, electrosurgical units, etc.)
- Manage troubleshooting of Ion, Da Vinci system and auxiliary equipment malfunctions
- Manage set up, maintenance and repair of auxiliary equipment
- Manage cleaning and organization of inventory to the highest level
- Manage the coordination of software upgrades as needed
- Other:
- Develop operations/ordering SOPs, DOPs, work instructions and training material as needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- In-depth knowledge of Ion and da Vinci robotic system repair, maintenance and test procedures
- Ability to install and drive 4th gen system platforms
- Ability to read and understand system error logs
Required Education and Training
- Background options:
- Operations manager
- Technical training manager
- Laboratory manager
- 10 yrs. Experience in a training lab or manufacturing comparable work environment
- 5 years personnel management experience
- Experience with lean processes
- Strong knowledge of surgical/laboratory terminology, equipment, materials, and procedures, and the fundamental laboratory methods relating to surgery
- Trained in Lean Manufacturing, and knowledgeable of the DaVinci system S, SI, XI, SAP, SQL Neptune, Remote FE and SAP.
Working Conditions
- Ability to push up to 100lbs
- Ability to walk average of 3 miles per day
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Good knowledge of surgical procedures
- Strong familiarity with sterile protocol
