We have an outstanding career for opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Boxborough, MA surrounding area.

The Supplier Quality Engineer is a critical role within the organization, working alongside our Operations and Engineering Teams. The Supplier Quality Engineer is the primary contact for supplier quality issues and is responsible for driving supplier performance management through scorecards, coordinating audits or surveys of suppliers, and supplier containment/corrective actions. Analytical and problem-solving skills as well as solid time-management, organizational, and multitasking skills are essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with suppliers to refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement methodology and lean manufacturing principles to ensure the quality of goods and services provided.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to conduct audits of new and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions with Operation, Supply Chain, and engineering on supplier-related quality concerns affecting production.
  • Work with Supply Chain to drive improvement of supplier performance by implementing a scorecard that measures quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics and report supplier quality performance.
  • Assist Supply Chain in developing and executing processes to effectively qualify new suppliers and support exiting risky suppliers.
  • Support the validation and approval of supplier FAIs.
  • Provide documentation of root cause and corrective actions for customer complaints involving supplier nonconformances.
  • Issue SCARs as appropriate and work with the supplier to drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards for supplier and purchasing controls.


Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a technical discipline; Engineering discipline from a four-year University preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • TRAVEL: 25% of overnight travel is required for the position.
  • Detailed working knowledge of PPAP and associated process documentation, including but not limited to FMEA, Control Plans, Process Capabilities, and Gage R&R.
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of corrective actions and problem-solving techniques.
  • Kaizen and/or Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
