As a Supply Chain Engineering Lead you will own the development and management of our supply chain to support aircraft manufacturing from initial concept through full rate production. You will navigate technical requirements alongside the engineering team and work with vendors to procure materials, components, tools, and capital equipment. You will set up robust and efficient procurement infrastructure to execute quickly, manage risk effectively, and build a resilient supply chain for high volume aircraft production.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Identify, assess, and manage suppliers for specialty aircraft components, materials, tooling, processing, capital equipment, and unique services.
  • Define and refine technical and programmatic requirements alongside the engineering team and suppliers to optimize aircraft manufacturing cost and schedule.
  • Assist in cost estimation projects and model the costs of procuring goods at volume.
  • Assist suppliers in refining their manufacturing processes and developing new processes to support Swarm Aero's goals.
  • Write, publish, and communicate technical specifications to manage supplier quality.
  • Develop and maintain business processes for vendor onboarding, communication standards, risk assessment, procurement, and shipping / receiving.
  • Lay the groundwork for procurement and supply chain operations at Swarm Aero.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials or industrial engineering or gained relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent operation.
  • Managed contracting and procurement requirements and demonstrated understanding of financial and labor cost systems and production processes.
  • Demonstrated success as owner of a process or a loosely defined project and / or ability to thrive in an unstructured environment.
