Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management (SCM), the SCM Advisor will act as a single point of contact for sites to resolve or coordinate the resolution of complex delivery, kitting and staging or other SCM related issues, in addition to guiding sites through appropriate SCM processes.

This is an office-based role with occasional site travel. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 - 6th Ave SW. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour, Monday to Friday

Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry;
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or related field;
- Strong communicator and team player with the ability to quickly build productive relationships with operations (sites) and SCM teams;
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with a variety of people including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), suppliers, and external service providers;
- Experience with SAP and working knowledge with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word);
- Effective analytical, time-management and problem-solving skills;
Responsibilities:
Escalation Activities
- Serve as the single point of contact for respective sites to resolve or coordinate the resolution of complex issues related to improving material and service availability, in addition to guiding sites through appropriate SCM processes;
- Identify alternative solutions when delivery options do not meet requirements to support site production plans and minimize business impact;
- Support material availability discussions - identifying areas where appropriate SCM teams can prevent potential delays while considering VMI, consignments, stocking strategies, etc.
- Work collaboratively to resolve recurring transactional issues as discussed in Production Unit (PU) meetings and ACFTs;
- Systematically action work/purchase orders to ensure business critical deliveries are prioritized;
- Support any Northern Lights related troubleshooting as required by connecting with the appropriate SCM team.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Guide site teams to ensure following of correct processes, commercial strategies and provide connections to relevant resources for issue resolution;
- Support site teams to learn how to best navigate and interact with the new SCM org;
- Support other value-added SCM initiatives when possible (e.g., channel management, etc.);
Stewardship and Metrics
- Maintain adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and best practices;
- Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing and implementing process enhancements where inefficiencies exist;
- Drive operational, and customer service results across sites, measured by relevant KPIs (e.g. customer satisfaction, issue resolution, etc.)
