Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, implementing, measuring, and directing Bristol Health Supply Chain strategies in supporting the Perioperative (PeriOp) and Med/Surg areas. Responsible for alignment and optimization with GPO and local contracts within PeriOp and Med/Surg, ensuring maximum compliance, savings, with the highest quality products. Oversees vendor management, item master integrity, special orders, and par levels

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the purchasing, receiving, setting of par levels and returns of inventory for the PERIOP storeroom and Central Storeroom with the Materials Management team.
  • Monitors recalls impacting items used in Perioperative areas.
  • Execute product standardization and conversions in the OR, Med/Surg and Endo areas.
  • Provides opportunities for group buys / GPO savings for quotes and contracts for purchased services, service contracts, and equipment.
  • Stays current on market trends for Med/Surg supplies, PeriOp, and healthcare supply chain. Communicate opportunities and risks to the System Director of Supply Chain, recommending action plans based on forecasted market trends.
  • Active Supplier Relationship Management: Development and measurement of KPI's, supplier audits, business reviews, improvement plans, new opportunities, awards, terminations, etc. including savings tracking and ongoing communication to management and stakeholders.
  • Monitors staff performance to ensure employees are meeting organizational standards. Provides evaluations of all staff members using approved job descriptions and organizational policy guidelines.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Educational / Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required.Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in health care Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Contracting, or Supply Chain Management. Three (3) years supervisory/management experience required. Advanced negotiations skills courses, a plus.

State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements: Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management: Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP), Association for Supply Chain Management: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (SSGB, SSBB) preferred but not required.

Bristol Health Mandated Educational Requirements: General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by the health system.

Special Requirements: Extensive knowledge of supplies, implants, equipment, and instruments used in Operating Rooms and Endoscopy Suites. Experience with managing product trials, conversions, evaluations with physicians and key clinical stakeholders. Proven ability to execute and generate cost reduction improvement. Proficient with PCs and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Proficient with Meditech Procurement, Materials Management, and Item Master functionality. Moderate to complex level of financial analysis knowledge including business modeling and problem solving skills. Experience in negotiating pricing, contract terms and conditions including statements of work (SOWs). Experience in providing project management and team leadership for sourcing initiatives stakeholders. The ability to formulate and articulate a strategy and business case for the category and build the tactical path. Critical thinking and decision making: The ability to solve complex problems and think through both tangible (holistic supply chain costs) and intangible (future value of supplier relationships) factors in making decisions for the health system. Ability to develop relationships and build both a strong direct and indirect sphere of influence. Ability to take ownership, lead and influence to deliver the desired results.

Physical Requirements: Position requires ability to occasionally lift light objects. Ability to constantly concentrate on fine detail with interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.

Work Environment: Regular exposure to patient elements, high stress.

Cognitive Requirements: Strong critical thinking skills; good communication skills, oral and written.
