Role Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the order-to-delivery supply chain process, ensuring the availability of necessary commodities to support manufacturing or distribution. This individual will develop, implement, and manage strategies and solutions to optimize the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure supplier value stream performance aligns with demand and operational needs.
  • Serve as the industry expert for a specific value stream category and develop sourcing strategies that support business growth and cost reduction while improving supplier performance year-over-year.
  • Act as an internal consultant on the availability of future commodities and assess the impact on design programs.
  • Identify performance gaps within the supply base and create improvement plans for these gaps.
  • Lead and mentor the team to build a strong supply chain unit and drive business results.

Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Core Skills and Competencies:
Planning (Tactical, Strategic):
  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques with the ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years), and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of business objectives.
  • Develop and communicate tactical plans, ensuring alignment with broader strategic goals.
  • Plan resources in line with departmental goals and technical objectives.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
  • Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions based on judgment and available data.
  • Participate in documenting key data and processes for decision-making.
  • Clarify concerns and assess risks and benefits in decision-making scenarios.

Negotiating:
  • Expertise in negotiation techniques, successfully negotiating internally and externally with vendors and clients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to achieve win-win results while protecting organizational interests.
  • Recognizes and addresses negotiation breakdowns and stalemates.

Leadership:
  • Ability to lead a team by utilizing appropriate leadership styles and motivating others to achieve business goals.
  • Use positive reinforcement to enhance productivity and maintain motivation.

Contingency and Disaster Recovery Management:
  • Develop and execute disaster recovery plans, including environmental and equipment configurations.
  • Coordinate recovery planning across functions to minimize business disruption.
  • Perform testing and validation of contingency plans for critical operations.

Contracts Management and Administration:
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Review and manage contractual agreements and assist in creating relevant documentation for vendors and clients.

Supply Chain Management:
  • Quantify and assess various supply chain strategies and their impact.
  • Manage and monitor the full supply chain process and consult on network design and process improvements.
  • Advise on capacity and efficiency at various points throughout the supply chain.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • Primarily office-based, with occasional travel required for supplier visits or other operational needs.
