AmesburyTruth is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our team! In this role you will assist in managing the materials functional area, including providing support for on-time delivery, inventory valuation, supplier delivery, and use of lean tools. This role will perform a variety of tasks related to managing forecasting and planning for all components and materials; collaboration with other managers on optimal inventory; execution of strategic plans to support business objectives; and supporting implementation and stabilization of SAP.

- Direct local supply chain team in schedule planning and materials management.
- Track, report on, and create actions around the inventory sections of working capital reviews. Generate and provide an update for ongoing inventory reduction projects.
- Develop an overall management strategy and robust systems for plant inventory levels including raw, work in-process (WIP), and finished goods to meet inventory goals and support demand requirements.
- Work with fellow Supply Chain Managers to establish the optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements, minimize carrying costs and reduce transportation charges.
- Coordinate the design and implementation of improved inventory management concepts and supporting systems and procedures.
- Review and calculate ABC classifications, safety stock, and EOQ for use in ERP system (SAP)
- Coordinate and facilitate the reduction of obsolete and slow-moving inventory and establish procedures to ensure proper controls are in place to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop a measurement/feedback system w/key metrics to assess the performance of the supply chain team.
- Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy of both physical and book inventory.
- Collaborate with other functional managers in Production, Distribution, and Customer Service to identify and address materials issues to process improvements and inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with other functional areas to responsibly monitor and manage raw component delivery schedules to minimize freight costs (regular and expedited).
- Coordinate multi-plant collaboration to identify opportunities for synergy, best practice sharing, and the most cost-effective utilization of material resources.
- Provide support, training, and advice/mentoring to the materials team.
- Train and develop the materials organization to understand critical concepts, principles of lean, and world class materials management.
- Ensure all company-required tools, programs and management systems are properly implemented and that documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and up to date.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- APICS Certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Materials or Supply Chain role
- Minimum 2 years of experience in leadership of salaried level professionals
- Demonstrated experience working with SAP system
- Demonstrated successful management of delivery, work in-process control, distribution, buying, production planning, and scheduling.
- Knowledge of capacity planning techniques
- Knowledge of demand planning/forecasting processes and techniques
- Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work
