SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership and direction to planning, procurement, warehouse functions and materials flow. This role owns inventory for the facility and is responsible for creating functional strategies, set objectives, develops budgets, policies and procedures, and overall infrastructure to meet set goals and objectives. Additionally, the Director of materials will Provide ongoing strategic direction aimed at continuous improvement of customer service level and cost improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drives customer responsiveness through collaboration with other departments to ensure flow of information, materials, and availability of capacity to meet and exceed customer expectations through SIOP process.
- Develops and focuses on continuous improvement of inputs, process, and outputs of sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) process.
- Leads demand planning, supply planning and scheduling strategies to ensure alignment of customer demand and production capacity.
- Provides leadership in the SIOP process, planning activities, manufacturing scheduling and execution of production plans.
- Recruits, trains, leads, evaluates, and retains direct and indirect labor associated with materials function.
- Establishes processes that align NPD, planning, sourcing, and operations to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Initiates, leads, and drives results of continuous improvement programs by establishing and overseeing implementation of policies that utilize the philosophies and methodologies of Lean Manufacturing.
- Drive process standardization, documentation, and performance measurements including the transfer of best practices between facilities
- Develops functional budget and capital expenditures for AOP planning purposes.
- Develops and manages functional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance and continuous improvement.
- Drives and maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
- Develops PFEP program to support effective and efficient material flow through the supply chain.
- Works with team members and stakeholders to resolve material flow constraints through long-term sustainable corrective actions and solutions.
- Leads and develops cycle counting team to ensure the highest level of accuracy to meet our business and auditors' needs.
- Ensures proper observance of company policies, regulations and procedures within materials team.
- Ensures documentation and procedures consistently adhere to policies and practices necessary to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Motivates, inspires, coaches, and develops team members.
- Participates and leads Kaizen continuous improvement projects as needed.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Proficient inventory management knowledge within a Lean Manufacturing Environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships
- Demonstrated critical thinking and abstract reasoning abilities
- Understanding of the relationship between accurate demand planning and shop floor manufacturing efficiency
- Ability to trouble shoot any gaps in planning or buying and adjust processes as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or business-related field required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain and materials management within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems preferred.
- Six-Sigma Certification preferred.
- Kaizen Project Experience preferred.
