As a Supply Chain Planning Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal inventory levels by managing the demand and supply for products. The role's focus will start with demand planning and forecasting and will evolve into managing supply planning. The person will utilize different demand forecasting tools, evaluate the quality of the forecasts, explore opportunities to improve forecast quality and help establish a demand planning process for the company. As the demand planning process is solidified, this role will work train other planners on demand planning and also get trained on supply planning to have end to end planning responsibility for a set of products. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to maximize forecast quality and minimize inventory while maintaining high service levels.

Responsibilities:
  • Demand Forecasting: Utilize statistical models, historical data, and market trends to develop accurate demand forecasts for products or services.
  • Demand Planning: Develop and refine demand planning processes and methodologies to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency and integrate it with the S&OP process.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may impact demand forecasts and inventory levels. Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to derive insights from data.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to gather relevant data inputs, understand market dynamics, and incorporate business intelligence into demand forecasts.
  • Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels by balancing demand forecasts with supply chain constraints, minimizing stockouts, and excess inventory.
  • Supply Plan: Take ownership of the inventory replenishment plan by balancing inventory risks with service levels, to order the right set of products based on lead times, minimum order quantities, and other supply chain parameters.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor forecast accuracy metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks to demand forecasts, such as changes in market conditions, supply chain disruptions, or competitive pressures, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present demand planning reports, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior management, to support decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in demand planning and supply chain management. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • Proven experience (3+ years) in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management roles, preferably in a manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods environment.
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and demand planning software/tools.
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence decision-making.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts, including inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
