The Supply Chain Team Leader is responsible for the management and supervision of Supply Chain staff and functions related to the planning, purchasing and finished good delivery of manufactured and distributed goods at Baylis Med Tech.
Your Impact Through Innovation
- Primary responsibility for coaching, mentoring and ensuring deliverables are met for production planners and buyers who report to them.
- Monitor, prioritize and direct staff for control of functions related to material planning, production planning, and purchasing for manufactured goods. This includes contract manufacturing, Baylis manufacturing and distributed finished goods.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and take action to achieve cost reductions, or improve cost effectiveness, including introducing alternative sources where appropriate
- Responsible as first escalation contact for vendor delays and price increases, as well as internal issues faced by internal stakeholders on direct reports
- Work in collaboration with Quality, Production, Inventory, Warehousing and Facilities to ensure lean and cost-effective Manufacturing Operations.
- Work in collaboration with the Project Management Office and Engineering teams to support procurement and planning of NPI projects as they move closer to launch.
- Review reports to ensure metrics are met in Operations, Supplier Quality and Finance, and lead and delegate actions as required.
- Generate reports and analyze them as required to assess issues and improvements.
- Lead and support special supply chain projects as required.
- Adhere to and promote the adherence to all Corporate, Quality and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required.
Your Unique Expertise
Required Skills:
- At least 4 years of exposure to manufacturing environment in medical, pharmaceutical or other regulated industry
- At least 2 years of Supply Chain experience
- A university degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
- Strong communication, negotiation and time management skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Familiarity with MRP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
