Description:
Selling Partner Identity Verification is looking for a Support Engineer to execute jointly with our Data Engineering team on our data strategy and long term architecture plan. Our data stores support 2 organizations and 7 fraud programs across those organizations. We are looking for someone who can drive best practices, identify root causes and propose solutions for the regular operational concerns of our data strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- Be a technical lead on the team and act as a subject matter expert on the data we consume and what we need it for
- Identify and drive opportunities to simplify our data stack
- Identify and resolve root causes that reduce our team's operational burden
- Reduce our need to invest in tactical operational issue resolution by migrating our data to a sustainable strategic architecture
- Work independently to identify and resolve support related issues as they are discovered
- Assist Business Analysts and other business related data roles in supporting their use cases within our data stack
A day in the life
A support engineer in Selling Partner Identity Verification will spend their day identifying recurring operational issues, proposing solutions to partners and stakeholders and then implementing those solutions. The engineer will spend time executing on and driving our team towards delivering on our tactical strategy for data management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of software development, or 4+ years of technical support experience
- Experience scripting in modern program languages
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow
- Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of distributed applications/enterprise applications
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful web API calls
- Experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $182,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
