Hiring Salary Range: $114,900 - $172,400
Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.
The Impact You will make in this role:
This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of generating assets. They will ensure assets are operated in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. Demonstrate leadership behaviors that sets and reinforces clear expectations and influences behaviors consistent with industry best standards. Develop partnerships and support strong teamwork attributes to achieve the organization's vison and mission. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, operational, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. The position will have Operating Responsibilities for the generating assets below through the effective implementation of the remaining Job Functions:
Flambeau Hydroelectric Station
Elk Mound Combustion Turbines
Additional generating assets as assigned.
2. Manage overall operations of each site to ensure adequate energy supply to meet demands by working with site personnel to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the units.
3. Develop and implement strategies, plans, projects and local practices resulting in a continuous improvement process for higher levels of safety, availability and reliability on all units under direct control.
4. Ensure station performance by setting and communicating expectations consistent with station annual goals.
5. Lead in the development of maintenance processes aligned with industry best practices.
6. Assist in the preparation of site annual budgets, annual work plans, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and station goals that align with top quartile performance values.
7. Responsible for forming and leading the reliability initiatives aligned to each station's specific needs.
8. Provide educational and training opportunities for direct reports to assist with their knowledge, skills and proficiency based on a keen understanding of their positions and responsibilities.
9. Provide leadership and oversite for execution of a comprehensive safety program at each station to achieve safety performance levels at or above performance targets.
10. Facilitate the full utilization of established work processes to ensure all necessary information for the efficient, effective, reliable operation of the station is accurate, timely and transparent.
11. Prepare and report, as requested, on all aspects of safety, station equipment, personnel and budgetary compliance.
12. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, permits and regulations governing generation facilities.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electric power plant operations or related field. Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience required.
Skills:
Knowledge of operations and maintenance site generating facilities
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, D365/Solver)
Labor relations knowledge
Leadership skills
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand/sit; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to wear hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and breathing apparatus (35 lbs). Other Job Characteristics: On-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Home Office Work Location can be flexible based on the various locations of the company's generating assets. Flexibility to travel between generating assets is required.
