Focusing our efforts within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Bakken Resource Play, Steel Reef has become a market leader in developing the emissions-to-energy practice to supply net new energy from flare gas, a previously unavailable source.
In 2024, Steel Reef entered into multiple long-term Power Purchase Agreements with SaskPower. Following construction of additional utility-grade electricity substations and generation turbines powered by recovered flare gas, Steel Reef will provide more than 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity within Saskatchewan and North Dakota, which could power more than 100,000 homes annually.
Position Summary:
As part of a growing midstream Oil & Gas Infrastructure company, the Surface Land Administrator is responsible for various land administration duties for pipeline and facilities projects as well as maintaining files on existing infrastructure. This role will provide day to day support ensuring all applicable corporate policies, legal and regulatory requirements are met.
This position will be based out of the Calgary office, reporting directly to the Team Lead, Surface Land.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and administration of existing land records;
- Audit & process acquisition packages;
- Maintain appropriate lines of communication with internal and external stakeholders;
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards;
- Process monthly lease rentals and related invoices;
- Monitor and track lease obligations, payments and expirations;
- Review & Process Third Party Requests;
- Provide land support for acquisitions and divestitures. Includes due diligence, integration of surface assets and preparing and processing conveyance documentation;
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Petroleum Land Diploma/Certificate or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 5-7 years of oil and gas related experience;
- Must be fully versed in oil and gas regulations as they pertain to lands and facilities in Saskatchewan;
- Must have experience with Word, Excel, CS Land and familiarity with Mapping/GIS software;
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines;
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
- Ability to interpret and analyze lease and easement documents;
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills;
- Experience in the United States (North Dakota) will be considered a strong asset.
