Description:
This is a role in a Surgical Room within a Level IV Trauma Center and Level III NICU.
The center is also a Primary Stroke Center with 277 hospital beds.
The unit has 12 beds and typically operates 10 rooms daily.
On average, there are 25-30 cases per day involving general, urology, ortho, spine, and OBGYN procedures with a preference for experience in robotics.
No cardiac, brain, or transplant cases are handled.
Top three types of OR cases include ortho, general, and OBGYN.
Patient ratios are 1:1.
Receptionist/HUC and a free-floating charge nurse are available for support.
Scheduling includes a weekend rotation and on-call is required.
On-call shift schedule:
Weekday on-call is from Monday to Friday, 1 day per week, with two shifts - 4h from 1500-1900, and 12h from 1900-0700.
Weekend on-call occurs every 5-6 weeks from Saturday 0700 to Monday 0700.
Response time is expected to be within 30 minutes on site.
Holiday expectations require 1 on-call only.
Approval of up to 7 days off can be granted, for additional days, individuals must email the Nurse Manager.
The schedule operates on a 6-week cycle, distributed 1-2 weeks in advance.
