Job Description
Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Job Specialty: CVOR Tech
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a large hospital; Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience required
License: Graduated from an accredited surgical technologist school or equivalent military training, or 10+ years experience as a Surgery Technician
Certifications: BLS (AHA) certification required
Must-Have: Strong cardiac experience including scrubbing hearts
Job Description:
- Prepare the surgical room and gather supplies needed for procedures.
- Deliver instruments to the surgeon and other surgical team members during operations.
- Function as a second assistant to the surgeon when necessary.
- Assist in the decontamination of the room, supplies, and instruments post-surgery.
- Experience scrubbing a variety of cases, including CVOR, GYN, General, Neuro, Ortho, and Trauma.
- Work in a department with 20 OR suites and an average surgical volume.
- Participate in on-call schedule, handling approximately one-third of the calls.
Note: Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from the central facility address to be eligible. All candidates are expected to have a high school diploma or GED. A locker and scrubs will be provided by the hospital. Modules required pre-start are non-billable and average 12 hours. Candidates cannot accept both PRN and travel positions concurrently.
