Reporting to the General Counsel, this position is responsible for management and oversight of legal matters across the company. This includes responsibility for regulatory matters, litigation management, exam management, licensing review, negotiating and drafting business agreements, as well as conducting legal-related research to determine applicability and provide consultation on developing rules and regulations.
Additionally, this position is responsible for managing performance, fostering development, and providing mentoring to team members with the goal of evaluating talent in a continuing effort to increase the efficiency of the department.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this position is responsible for management and oversight of legal matters across the company. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing performance, fostering development, and providing mentoring to team members with the goal of evaluating talent in a continuing effort to increase the efficiency of the department.
Qualifications include:
- Juris Doctorate Degree (JD) and a member of the State Bar in good standing
- Active license to practice law in relevant jurisdictions or capable of meeting admission requirements
- 10+ years' legal experience in real estate, banking, consumer lending, or residential mortgage servicing with a law firm or corporate legal department
- 10+ years as a practicing attorney
- 7+ years' experience managing a corporate legal team/ department
- 5+ years' experience directly managing people and leading teams
- Prior experience providing consultation and guidance to C-suite
- Strong verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate at C-Suite level
- Strong written communication skills; ability to effectively draft legal documents and related communications
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the organization to influence and drive required results
- Strong negotiation abilities
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities coupled with strong analytical skills and sound judgment
- Strategic leadership with proven ability to foster a positive, collaborative work environment
- Demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility; coupled with recognizing and supporting the organization's culture, values, and priorities

Compensation
- The hiring range for this position is between $140,000.00-$200,000.00 annually
- This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
