This role is based out of Ontario, Canada. Please note, Real Chemistry does not have a legal entity in Canada, so you will be hired through a Canadian Employer of Record (EoR) as we work to establish and build out our presence.

Job Summary:

Real Chemistry's 21GRAMS is looking for an SVP, Group Strategy Director to help establish our growing global network. This role is both strategic and entrepreneurial, combining strategic savvy with business development to expand our presence in key markets. You'll be one of a few initial key hires helping us unlock the next phase of Real Chemistry's growth as we work to expand our global footprint outside the US/UK.

In this role you will partner with account and creative leads to help establish a global presence in Canada. You will play a pivotal role in delivering local insights and cultural nuance back to our UK-based International Hub for our largest clients, while also being responsible for driving local market growth across the entirety of our Real Chemistry capabilities - including: Activation, Advertising, Analytics & Insights, Integrated Communications, and Medical Communications.

This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of global and local market pharmaceutical advertising as well as someone who loves to build, appreciates the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and fosters cross-functional partnership.

What You'll Do:

As the SVP, Group Strategy Director, you will be a key leader responsible for establishing a local market presence, delivering local market insights and ensuring cultural nuance is reflected for any UK-based International Hub clients, and partnering with local market account and creative leadership to drive business development. You'll shape and execute brand strategy to drive growth and enhance brand equity. You will work closely with US- and UK-based executive leadership, UK-based International Hub cross-functional teams, and external partners to develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies that align with our clients' business objectives and resonate with their target audience. This role will begin as an individual contributor but will scale over time to include recruiting and guiding team members as the local market presence grows.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a local market presence in partnership with local market account and creative leadership
  • Drive local market business development across all Real Chemistry capabilities in partnership with local market account and strategy leadership and Real Chemistry executive leadership
  • Provide local market insights and cross-checks for cultural relevance/nuance to our UK-based International Hub for our largest clients
  • Craft market situation analysis, brand positioning, messaging, and creative briefs that effectively communicate our clients' brand story and drive business growth
  • Conduct market research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the marketplace
  • Help drive to successful launch with impactful engagement strategy, inclusive of journey mapping, content strategy, and comms architecture
  • Drive innovation in brand strategy and marketing approaches to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of brand initiatives and campaigns, and use insights to inform future strategies
  • Recruit and grow a high-performing team
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning


Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Healthcare (pharmaceutical), global, and local market expertise
  • 10+ years of experience in brand strategy or related roles within advertising, public relations, or marketing
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing successful brand strategies
  • Experience applying global strategy in local markets and/or developing market-specific insights and strategies for local affiliate markets
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies in a clear and compelling manner
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Highly motivated self-starter who enjoys working independently without requiring in-depth direction or supervision
  • Bilingual proficiency in both English as well as local market language(s)
