NCR Edge is creating a highly scalable, hybrid (cloud and on-premises), multi-region solution leveraging cutting edge technology solutions. Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
- Create and implement features and tests ensuring high quality code and test coverage is achieved
- Collaborates with other squads and engineering teams, product managers, product owners, UI/UX and other functions
- Contributes to technical strategy discussions
- Participate and contribute to an effective software development lifecycle including a high focus on customer support and root cause analysis
- Build a test plan and conduct testing based on knowledge of system architecture, interdependencies and interactions
- Accurately estimate time and resources for software development and test efforts
- Provide technical leadership and assistance to internal and external product development teams
- Removes silo's, contributing to the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features
- Review design and code with developers and architects in consideration of performance, scalability, testability and supportability
- Mentor others on the team with a growth mindset
- Can diagnose and debug issues within the system or in downstream dependencies, working with other teams to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Be an advocate of quality-up-front and test driven/behavior driven development, supporting the team with the Definition of Ready and achieving our Definition of Done
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering
- 3+ years integrating with REST APIs
- 3+ years' experience working with Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong computer science fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures & algorithm
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with designing systems in consideration of performance, responsiveness, concurrency, availability, supportability, observability
- Familiarity with Dev Ops tools: CICD & Dev Ops: Github/BitBucket, Jenkins, JIRA, Test Automation
- Experience working with a UI/UX team to implement designs
General knowledge, skills and abilities
- Google Cloud Platform
- Languages/Technologies including: GoLang, Kubernetes, Operators, React, Redux, Javascript, HTML, and CSS, Git, GitHub
- Familiarity using and participating in open-source projects
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (including agile, iterative, and other modern approaches to software development)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
- Ability to estimate work effort for stories and epics, and ensure the milestones are successfully completed
- Ability to guide and advise on best practices for architecture and design based on previous experience
- Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
- Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach
- Knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practice
