Position Description:
Syndications Officer manages the process of distributing large agricultural loans to a network of investors by coordinating with various lenders to package and sell portions of loans, ensuring compliance with regulations. The Syndication Officer develops and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders within the agricultural finance market; essentially acting as an intermediary between Farm Credit and other financial institutions looking to invest in rural lending opportunities.
Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deal execution: Managing the syndication process and timelines, including preparing offering documents, coordinating due diligence, and negotiating terms with participants.
- Investor outreach: Building and maintaining relationships with pot ential investors like commercial banks, insurance companies, and other Farm Credit associations to market syndicated loan packages.
- Pricing and allocation: Determining the appropriate pricing for loan tranches and allocating portions of the loan to different investors based on their risk appetite.
- Portfolio management: Monitoring the performance of syndicated loans and managing any potential issues arising from the loan portfolio.
- Market analysis: Keeping up to date with market trends and economic conditions that could impact the agricultural lending landscape and syndication opportunities.
- Documentation and compliance: Ensuring all loan documentation adheres to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

It's an important role that covers many skills. This position requires:
- Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, business administration, finance, or a related field.
- Advanced training, certification, or a graduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in all facets of lending, with expertise in capital markets and loan participations.
Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge of loan documentation, credit practices, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret credit reports and loan agreements to discern relevant facts.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve problems and identify when to escalate issues.
- Proven ability to produce work that is timely, accurate, and thorough.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to effectively utilize written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersona l skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and interact with and engage others appropriately at all levels in the organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver on commitments within tight timeframes and competing priorities.
- Knowledge of DebtX is considered a plus.
