Description:
QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting for a System Administrator (SA) to join our team at APG, MD to support our C5ISR Center, RTI Directorate, Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division contract.

QED offers a competitive compensation package for employees. Our total compensation package is value-based and negotiable depending upon the candidate's specific skills and applicable relevant experience.

Estimated Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00, annually. This represents the typical range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Duties:
The PNT Lab System Administrator is primarily responsible for all Information Technology (IT) related tasks to include the following:
- Ensure that all IT and related systems are kept secured and functional for use by end-users within the labs.
- Systems are primarily Windows-based, with some LINUX and MAC systems.
- Ensure that PNT Lab end-user requests do not go without a response for more than one business day.
- Submit helpdesk tickets for end-user requests/issues that cannot be handled locally, managing, and tracking them to completion in a timely manner.
- Install approved software patches and assist with any network connectivity issues.
- Assist with any Information Assurance (IA) scans and patches that cannot be automatically applied to systems - monitoring the IA compliance of systems in the labs and assisting with any exceptions to policy that may be required.
- Assist with purchasing new IT equipment for the labs.
- Ensure that laboratory systems are secured according to the requirements of the lab authorization.
- Maintain standalone system operating systems security.
- Maintain Program of Record system operating security.
- Maintain Closed Restricted Network (CRN) system operating security not connected to the C5ISR managed CRN.
- Ensure that laboratory systems are functional after securing. Communicate requests for waivers/exemptions when required.
- Ensure that requests for administrative or power user access are submitted and tracked to completion in a timely manner.
- Image systems using C5ISR approved image.
- Implement approved Operating System (OS) configuration changes.
- Perform password resets / account unlocks for locally controlled systems.
- Perform account creation for locally controlled systems.
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of IT Systems within the PNT Labs.
- Ensure scanning of laboratory systems not managed by the Directorate SA/NA.
- Supplies quarterly:
- Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) Compliance
- Network Diagrams
- Patch Compliance
- Review of systems that require exemptions/waivers.
- Supplies quarterly:
- Perform preliminary IA work associated with introduction of innovative technologies/operating systems to the network. Provide required documentation to Directorate IAM (Information Assurance Manager) for addition of capabilities to the authorization.
- Perform scripting/automation of recurring processes for locally controlled systems.
- Conduct required IAVM scanning and vulnerability assessments with approved software as authorized.
- For locally controlled systems, ensure CM (Configuration Management) includes all pertinent patches and fixes by routinely reviewing vendor sites, bulletins, and notifications and proactively updating systems with fixes, patches, definitions, and service packs.
- Implement and test IS and data backup procedures
- Obtain prior approval for use of any new removable media (for example, USB device, SD Card, etc.) from the IAM.
- Implement and monitor controls for use of removable media devices IAW draft removable media policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- System administrators (SAs) must be designated as Technical Level II (IAT-II) and have complete all required DoD training.
Required Clearance:
- ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- IAT Level 2 certified.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
Travel:
