Your role in our team
The System Architect role provides technical expertise and technology leadership during sales concept development and project concept design phases in the freight & parcel and postal material handling industries. This role collaborates with the Sales organization to understand customer operation and process challenges to develop industry-leading system solutions within the material handling industry. This role also collaborates within the Execution organization, ensuring concept designs align with system functionality requirements and support concept transformation into detailed design solutions.

Your role in our team
The System Architect role provides technical expertise and technology leadership during sales concept development and project concept design phases in the freight & parcel and postal material handling industries. This role collaborates with the Sales organization to understand customer operation and process challenges to develop industry-leading system solutions within the material handling industry. This role also collaborates within the Execution organization, ensuring concept designs align with system functionality requirements and support concept transformation into detailed design solutions.
- You will demonstrate a strong expertise in material handling system design, equipment technology, and operational process within a multi-discipline rapid development team to extend the capabilities of existing Krber products and develop new capabilities to position Krber for maximum growth.
- You will head up the client's request for the material handling system(s) using their data or working through their requirements to create system solutions solving client issues, enhancing processing efficiency, and supporting end-user requirements.
- You will provide technical expertise during the sales phase, showcasing Krber's capability to develop industry-leading solutions and build trust with clients.
- You will support multiple client projects with a range of $1M - $250M.
- You will conduct internal and external meetings with clients as required.
- You will create, utilize, and explain the Material Flow Calculator that develops the Basis of Design (BOD).
- You will act as the subject matter expert on various types of material handling equipment in the market to ensure the best possible solution.
- You work with clients to create a weighted Selection Criteria Matrix, driving optimal solution selections for end users and Krber.
- You will create Concepts and Process and Material Flow Diagrams.
- You will ensure that mechanical system designs align with electrical control capabilities and support solution requirements.
- You will support the development of the description for operation documentation.
- You will provide mechanical support for system and product simulation and emulation testing.
- You will work with the bid factory on pricing.
- You will collaborate with the design team to develop system requirements and functional specification documents for handoff to engineering and operations teams.
- You will work with operations to ensure that commissioning and testing plans are in accordance with the "As-Sold" concept and system acceptance criteria.
Your profile
- You have obtained a Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
- You have gained a minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in a related field and successful demonstration of knowledge and responsibilities.
- You are proficient in automation layout and design with AutoCAD 2D or Navisworks.
- You have working knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and drafting.
- You understand automation controls, and you have an interest in cross-discipline responsibilities.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You have a strong ability to document technical decisions with illustrations and clear verbal explanations.
- You have excellent analytical skills.
- Proven ability of high-quality output to exceed customers' expectations.
- You can travel 25%.
