BAE Systems is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join our User Authentication Support team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (DoD HPCMP).

This is a 100% virtual position that can be accomplished from anywhere in the continental US.

The selected system administrator will work with a team of engineers to review and define configurations, create automation scripts to deploy and configure network assets, review, and deploy software applications, and provide support for testing, demonstration, and technical interchange meetings to include troubleshooting, patching, hardening, and configuration management.

Flexibility in approach to finding solutions is essential, as well as the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities and learn new technologies quickly. Occasional off-hours activity will be required to perform updates and take part in service restoration efforts.

Responsibilities include:
  • System Deployment and configuration for RHEL7/8 and SuSE Linux
  • System security management using RMF and associated DoD security practices
  • Deployment and testing of authentication and identity management software
  • Review and define configurations
  • Create automation scripts to deploy and configure assets
  • Support testing & demonstration
  • Provide support for
    • troubleshooting
    • patching
    • hardening
    • configuration management
  • Participate in, and provide expertise for, technical interchange meetings


Required Skills and Education

Required:
  • Must currently possess 8570 IAT-II certifications (or higher) - baseline (ex. Security+)
  • OS Software Certification (i.e. Linux+, RHCE, RHCSA)
  • BS+6 years' experience or equivalent experience
  • Linux Administration (RHEL 7/8)
Varying amounts of experience considered:
  • Bash Scripting and process automation
  • PKI Authentication
  • SSL Certificate Management
  • DoD System Admin Experience (STIGs, RMF, etc.)
  • Kickstarts
