This job is 100% remote.
The selected Applications system administrator will focus on customer support, application operational and security monitoring, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), enhancements, system to system data interfaces, and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) integrations and installations. The Candidate will have O&M responsibilities that will include system maintenance (e.g., upgrades, patching), issue identification, troubleshooting, resolution development, testing and deployment, as well as producing / maintaining operational and security compliance documentation. We would leverage the Candidate's experiences to guide us in modernization of applications (e.g., consolidation, replacement, & conversion) in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Finally, this position will require engaging business customers and other technologists with a collaborative mindset and excellent written and verbal communications (targeted for technical and non-technical audiences)

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree or major coursework in information management, information technology, computer science or other related fields, or a minimum of five (5) years experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Minimum of two years of Linux server administration experience/concepts/knowledge.
- Minimum of two years of supporting web-based applications.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the design, implementation, and operations and maintenance support of client/server applications with an underlying database.
- Understanding and working knowledge of basic Internet protocols such as REST, HTTP, SMTP, SOAP, SSL, and TLS.
- Experience in monitoring running web hosting middleware including Java Virtual Machines (Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss/WildFly, setting JAVA_OPTS)
- Experience using remote connection tools (WinSCP, SFTP, SSH, puTTY)
- Scripting experience with PL/SQL, Windows server scripting (batch, powershell) and Unix shell scripting such as Bourne, BASH, CSH, TSH
- General database knowledge with some specific knowledge in Oracle.
- Demonstrated ability to configure application environments based on customer requirements.
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Preferred Skills and Education
- Previous experience in US Defense Contracting.
- Working knowledge of DFARS; NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and CMMC or similar security controls
- Systems architecture documentation using Visio
- Troubleshooting memory, storage and connectivity issues
- Troubleshooting process failures using stack/thread dumps (OS and JVM)
- TCP packet analysis using WireShark
