ECS is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a team responsible for managing and maintaining multiple network enclaves to support the DoD community. The candidate will aid in developing, maintaining, creating, documenting, and installing network and enclave infrastructure for a broad range of programming requirements, datasets, applications, and research objectives. This is a demanding, high-energy position that requires innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. General Duties
- Manage server access for multiple, simultaneous, external vendors (i.e., Government, academia, and industry).
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages; maintain them in accordance with established information technology (IT) policies and procedures.
- Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Perform additional program-related duties, as directed.
- US Citizenship required per contract.
- Active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline, and 5+ years of professional experience.
- (Or an Associate's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of professional experience.)
- Knowledge of, and experience with, data storage, standards, and structuring of large databases; specialization in database physical structure and functional capabilities, efficiency, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
- In-depth understanding of Defense Information Systems Agency's Security Technical Implementation Guide requirements (DISA STIGs).
- Prior hands-on experience:
- Installing and configuring software and hardware components
- Providing technical support to both Windows and Linux-based network servers and information technology systems
- Managing server access for multiple dispersed users
- Collaborating with Cloud Service Providers to design, implement, and maintain customer solutions
- Writing and executing technical documents including, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Concepts of Operation (CONOPs), and other related technical artifacts.
