Class Description

The purpose of this class is to perform senior level professional work supporting the Enrollment Services functional area. Functions as an interface between Registrar's Office and Information Technology regarding requirements and functionality for both new development and existing production systems. Responsible for the analysis of student data and business processes, provides system and process expertise for the College's strategic enrollment management system to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. Manages and provides oversight in the selection, installation, conversion, upgrade, and improvement of the systems with project management responsibilities for some work efforts. Completes high-level policy and procedure documentation and provides specialized training and technical support.
Position could be based at either the Essex or Catonsville Campus.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and four (4) years of full-time technical experience with student information systems. Experience with Banner ERP and web technology; Oracle, HTML, SQL, PLSQL, Power BI, Banner Student Modules, and SQL based report generating software such as ARGOS or SSRS preferred.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Design, program, test, implement and document local updates to systems in order to enhance business processing efficiencies or a required change in service delivery.
  • Execute quality control through edits and reports to improve data quality.
  • Prepare, analyze and provide reports as requested by the Registrar's Office leadership team.
  • Review, update, and develop business processes to promote consistent data entry in the student information system.
  • Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
  • Serve as liaison between Enrollment Services/Registrar and College departments, faculty, and staff, as required.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology Services to validate changes and updates to systems.

    Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide technical support for all areas of the Enrollment services division andRegistrar's Unit.
  • Offer recommendations regarding technology related improvements to foster enrollment and automation.
  • Provide technical support for maintaining Banner Student modules, including but not limited to, Banner tables, Registration, self-service, population selections, Online Admissions Application and CRM, BCM Business Communication Management, Curriculum mapping, Degree works scribing, CPOS upgrades and other third party systems.
  • Assist in managing and testing system patches and upgrades to the Bannersystemmodules/third party systems and develop documentation for training delivery.
  • Develop systems and processes to review student information to ensure data integrity, identify opportunities for improved business process related to data integrity, and develop solutions.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Director of Enrollment Services/Registrar and Associate Registrar, prioritize and manage technology projects in collaboration with other departments.
  • Attend related training sessions, seminars, and conferences to enhance knowledge of student information systems and other technical skills.
  • Explore system-delivered enhancements and their set up and configuration.
  • Troubleshoot data/process/systems as needed in Registrar's Unit.
  • Learn new processes, applications and systems as needed.
  • Serve on campus and college-wide committees.
