SumnerOne is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Springfield, MO! As a Systems Engineer, you'll support our managed care customers by resolving network issues, managing configuration requests, and implementing network improvements. A significant focus of this role is maintaining and optimizing telecommunications systems alongside the core components of our Windows server infrastructure. You'll be tasked with ensuring network reliability and security while also driving forward enhancements in network design and telecommunications technologies.

SumnerOne is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Springfield, MO! As a Systems Engineer, you'll support our managed care customers by resolving network issues, managing configuration requests, and implementing network improvements. A significant focus of this role is maintaining and optimizing telecommunications systems alongside the core components of our Windows server infrastructure. You'll be tasked with ensuring network reliability and security while also driving forward enhancements in network design and telecommunications technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize Windows server infrastructure (WINS, DNS, DHCP, File and Print services, Terminal Services licensing, Active Directory)
- Resolve escalated hardware failures and server outages, including data recovery
- Oversee anti-virus software upgrades, deployments, and maintenance
- Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, and anti-spam systems
- Maintain VMWare environments and provide engineering support for virtual machines
- Research, analyze, and test network designs, with a focus on telecommunications improvements
- Ensure network security through firewall design and DMZ environments, with experience in Palo Alto firewalls
- Perform troubleshooting for servers, workstations, and related systems
- Produce and maintain detailed documentation of the server and network infrastructure
Telecommunications Emphasis:
- Lead efforts to enhance VoIP systems across our network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with application owners and network teams to improve VoIP reliability and performance.
- Design and support secure VoIP solutions, including integration with VPN, IPSEC, and SSL technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in server engineering, server support, network administration, or help desk roles
- Technical certifications such as Microsoft MCSE and VMware VCAP-DCA preferred
- Strong knowledge of Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server Operating Systems
- Experience with Citrix Presentation and MetaFrame servers, and Citrix XenApp 6.5
- Expertise in VMWare ESX and general virtualization technologies
- Experience with automation, monitoring procedures, and secure network infrastructure design
- In-depth understanding of Next Generation firewalls, especially Palo Alto, and security protocols (VPN, IPSEC, SSL)
