The DarkStar Group is seeking a Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Chantilly, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. THE PROJECT

The Sponsor conducts technical assessments and provides technical guidance on use of various enterprise and mission enabling technologies supporting the Sponsor's Information Technology (IT) systems and network infrastructures in order to enhance the security and posture and usability. The Sponsor also provides critical review and guidance on procurement and supply chain issues; conducts digital forensic systems evaluation and analysis, and delivers technical support to investigations and insider threat issues. The Sponsor leverages technology, combined with subject matter expertise, to conduct these activities in support of its corporate office as well as external mission partners and stakeholders.

THE ROLE
  • The Contractor shall provide support for designing, engineering, implementing, and maintaining enterprise quality mission systems, networks, and applications for cyber related investigations across the Sponsor's initiatives.
  • The Contractor shall engineer, implement, and maintain a fault tolerant, highly redundant mission network.
  • The Contractor shall provide technical oversight of a project solution, including requirement interpretation and allocation of requirements to technical components.
  • The Contractor shall support processes to implement requirements.
  • The Contractor shall ensure that technical solutions leverage industry best practices, designing for security and excellence while minimizing the total cost of ownership.
  • The Contractor shall define internal and external customer IT infrastructure architecture needs and then provide solution options to meet those needs to include, capacity planning, systems configuration, tuning, monitoring, backups, hardware and software installations.
  • The Contractor will be required to work independently with little supervision and should be flexible to work and support IT Operation needs as requested.
  • The Contractor shall provide IT operations process improvement recommendations and implementation.
  • The Contractor shall assist with day-to-day complex system administration (Windows and Linux) tasks as necessary.
  • The Contractor shall function as an inter/intra-group liaison as projects required.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrated experience identifying possible technical or security problems and provide documented responses.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting technical requirements management.
  • Demonstrated experience performing complex problem management research and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple OS's, including Windows, Linux, and OSX.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple Hypervisors including HyperV, ESX, and VirtualBox.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco OS, including iOS, NexusOS.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows Management including Active Directory, SCOM, and VMM.
  • Demonstrated experience with LAN and WAN deployments.
  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Backup Solutions such as Microsoft DPM, and ArcServe Backup Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), including design, provisioning, capacity planning, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, engineering, testing, and implementation of migrating Hyper-V virtual machines from Windows 2008 to Windows 2012 R2 cluster Hyper-V environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with network design (LAN & WAN), including backup systems and disaster recovery (DR) architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating hardware and software products against customer requirements for technical evaluation and potential procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, engineering, implementing, and maintaining COTS/GOTS applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with Network Monitoring Appliances.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting with automation of administrative tasks through scripting.

Desired Skills (Optional)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's security or IT systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Shell scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL Server experience and familiarity with Oracle 10g/11g, and MySQL.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016.
  • Demonstrated experience with using System Center.
  • Demonstrated experience with Storage systems, including Net App, and HP.
  • Demonstrated experience with VMware ESX.
  • Demonstrated experience with the various types of forensic software utilized by the Sponsor.
  • Demonstrated experience with HP Servers and HP Blade Chassis.
  • Demonstrated experience providing recommendations in technical standards, security standards, and operational assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience with providing recommendations to architecture and design reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with vendors and third party producers.
  • Demonstrated experience building, configuring and troubleshooting customized forensic workstations.
  • Certification(s)
    • VMware Certified
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
