Job Summary:
ITS, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Aurora. This senior Systems Engineer position requires knowledge of Precision Navigation and Timing (PNT) concepts in the context of the Global Positioning System (GPS). This includes knowledge of using GPS signal measurements to determine GPS satellite orbits and clock states as well as overall GPS constellation time. Experience with GPS signals and signal types and how they are used is desired. General knowledge of Kalman Filters is required.

Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as subject matter expert for the NAV Configuration Item (CI), to include understanding of NAV interfaces, functions, data and underlying algorithms
- Experience with requirements management and associated tooling (DOORS), along with traceability from system requirements down to software requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications
- Ensure NAV performance, reliability, and scalability
- Develop CI-level system architecture solutions and requirements to guide software development activities
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities
- Understand and update NAV functional test cases and integration test procedures
- Implement enhancements to the existing system in addition to coordinating with other system engineers working in parallel and working with test engineers as needed
- Follow established system engineering processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
- Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of their immediate supervisor
- Collaborate with customers, System Engineering Technical Advisors (SETAs), Federally Funded Research and Development Company (FFRDC) engineers and the PNT community
- Be a team player incorporating a team-based success philosophy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with satellite orbit concepts, including orbit estimation and propagation, maneuver planning and execution
- Experience developing test tools and truth models in Python
- Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts
- Experience with GPS constellation, including signal types and GPS broadcast message
Education/Experience:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an advanced STEM degree and 3+ years of prior relevant experience
- 5+ Years Experience with PNT information systems or devices
- Strong knowledge of Kalman Filter concepts
- Experience with API concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, JMS, XML, and SOAP.
- Understanding and preferable experience in DevOps Scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development
Clearance Requirement:
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
