SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation will lead requirements development and system validation and verification management of complex aerospace systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilizing their expertise in systems design, modeling, and analysis to drive successful project outcomes.

SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation will lead requirements development and system validation and verification management of complex aerospace systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilizing their expertise in systems design, modeling, and analysis to drive successful project outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply systems engineering principles to plan, design, develop, and verify rotorcraft and unmanned autonomous aerospace systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Design, develop, and integrate complex rotorcraft systems, and ensure performance, weight, functionality, and form factors meet requirements.
- Perform systems analyses to ensure affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, and other critical factors for mission success.
- Be familiar with, and/or learn MBSE in order to better prepare Piasecki Aircraft for government proposals and program execution.
- Support the development of proposals, design reviews, and system test plans.
- Analyze system requirements, test data, and customer feedback to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate design development and system integration efforts, including collaboration with subcontractors.
- Conduct trade studies and analyses to evaluate alternative design concepts and optimize system performance.
- Maintain and mature the internal processes for configuration management of requirements and other engineering artifacts using JAMA and GitLab/GitHub.
- Provide training and documentation to support effective utilization of systems engineering tools and processes.
- Conduct failure modes and effects analyses, identify technical risks, and develop mitigation strategies
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies to include MBSE
- Experience with requirements management and systems architecture design.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to establish "big picture" perspectives.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to work as part of a team as an individual contributor.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering/Rotorcraft Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related role.
- Experience with JAMA, DOORS, SysML, or AnyLogic, or other systems engineering tools.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience with software development and DO-178C is beneficial.
