Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to support the Navy Enterprise Business Solutions program office. The Systems Engineer will provide support to APM-Es for systems engineering (SE) planning, integration of engineering management and technical processes across Program Office teams, and engineering analysis of the program office portfolio. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the quality of all deliverables, provide technical accuracy of the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) and other engineering documentation

Responsibilities

  • Participate with the Government program engineering teams during Systems Engineering (SE) Working Integrated Project Team (WIPT) and Working Group meetings and generate meeting minutes.
  • Streamline and Standardize System Engineering processes (Technical Authority, Systems Engineering Reviews (ETRs), APM-E/LE CONOPS, ETAM, Across PEO
  • Propose enhancements to the ETR (now ITRA) process to better support Agile processes with existing resources and to reduce time required for individual reviews, etc.
  • Help implement high quality of service, manage large volumes of data, and support complex enterprise information systems.
  • Prepare for and participate in review teams with Government personnel, other contractors and systems integrators for program strategies, integrated schedules, test plans, and deployment planning.
  • Review program, project, or initiative documentation for technical compliance with appropriate compliance action lists, policy, requirements, standards, and processes.
  • Perform the planning and execution of systems engineering technical management processes, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management.
  • Support development and assessment of metrics to evaluate performance and effectiveness of engineering activities
  • Analyze metric data, including building out views in the PEO MLB Systems (currently Power BI) and making recommendations to adjust business processes as a result of metric data
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and metric data capture
  • Prepare well-written, detailed systems engineering documentation including analyses, white papers, presentations, etc.


Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of professional services experience, preferrable including systems engineering service areas
  • Familiar with Agile and/or DevSecOps work environment a plus
  • Familiar with Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and other network environments
  • Knowledge of data analytics
  • Must be capable of performing effectively individually and as part of a team
  • Must have effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Be of high aptitude and keen on detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 suite skills, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Visio
  • Department of the Navy experience a plus
  • Support other activities as required
  • Must be able to perform duties on-site (2x's a week), at the NSF-Arlington or Washington Navy Yard (Post COVID)


Pay Range

$120,000
